In the social sector recognized the dual role of organic farming as a safe method of food production that responds to consumer concerns and its responsibility for promoting sustainable development and protecting the environment and animals both locally and regionally.
In species, areas and activities where organic production is possible, the organic agriculture and organic livestock is the goal to achieve in the near future.
The objectives of the Organic Agriculture and Livestock is:
- Production products and highly nutritious food, safe for the consumer without pesticide residues, antibiotics and chemical fertilizers.
- Protection of the environment (protection of soil and groundwater, sustainable management of natural resources, safeguarding biodiversity)
- Non-use of genetically modified organisms (GMO) and / or of products produced therefrom.
- Protect the health of farmers from exposure to harmful chemicals.
- The physical conditions of the animals and ensure their welfare.
- Using feed produced organically without the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and / or products derived from them.
